The Name & Logo

  • The prophet Amos, in 3:8, voices the awe-someness of our Lord Jesus, seen in the revelation of John: "And one of the elders said to me, "Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals" (Rev. 5:5).
  • LHUS was founded to glorify this Lion of Judah within the image-bearers of God. The process of conformity, pictured in Romans 8, is our central dogma in terms of practice: to mirror the Messiah.
  • Therefore, we seek to foster the continuation of the Protestant Reformation through mentorship and mobilization, reviving Kingdom Patriots for the sake of God and neighbor.

Statement of Faith

In Europe circa the 1500s, Martin Luther, John Calvin, and various others known as "the Reformers" stood up unapologetically for the sake of the authority of God and the redemption of sinners in the face of Rome. The five "solas" stood as the basis of their relation to God, and stand as ours, as found in sacred scripture. Each member of leadership or the volunteer body is required to sign a document containing the five below:

Sola Scriptura

The 66 books of the canon of sacred scripture are completely infallible, as breathed out by God, and are profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness (1 Tim. 3:16(-17)). Any other texts, though some may be edifying, are deemed as wholly lesser than scripture in substance and in use.

Sola Gratia

Salvation is impossible apart from the irresistible grace of our holy creator, and it is by grace alone that sinners, in need of this gift and unable to grasp it themselves – as those dead to God and deserving of wrath – may stand before Him, clothed in righteousness. (Eph. 2:8-9).

Solus Christus

Jesus is God incarnate, the heir to all things, and our mediator. Through His redemptive work, His body broken and blood poured out as propitiation for the sins of His bride (that is, spiritual Israel), death has been defeated. With Him, we have died and been raised to new life (Rom. 6). It is by Christ alone that one’s soul is rescued – released from the bondage of desire. Ultimately, our passover lamb (as the blood on the doorpost in Exodus 11), remains in our stead, as Paul writes, It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me” (Gal 2:20).

Sola Fide

By grace alone, through faith alone. By faith, the saints conformed their will to the Lord’s (Heb. 11), and by faith, Christ bore the cross. Faith is not the result of man’s own intuition or merit; it is the Holy Spirit’s handiwork, indwelling dry bones (Ez. 36, 37). At the Spirit’s choosing, the seed of Abraham’s eyes are opened, and repentance takes place (John 3:8).

Soli Deo Gloria

All is done to the glory of Elohim, three distinct persons in one eternal, sovereign Godhead. His ways are higher than our own, and though earthly institutions attempt to balance reality to their liking, the hand of God outweighs any attempt made by the foolish to rewrite History (Is. 55:8-9; Prov. 16:9). Who is man to call his life his own?

Therefore, seek first the kingdom, and all else will be added (Matt 6:33).
